According to Navajo tradition a baby’s first laugh is a special event. It represents a sense of life and happiness. Family and friends gathered for food, cake, and gifts. Since M made her laugh, he helped her with ceremonial duties. A Navajo wedding basket, used at the womanhood ceremony by Grandma G and S, was used throughout the dinner. K was fascinated by the basket, she loved touching and tasting the basket. Thank you Grandma and Grandpa for hosting the celebration.
